When you reach the age of 16, you can visit a driving test center in Ontario and give a graduated driver's license (GDL) written exam that consists of 40 MCQ's. The test is divided into two parts, each containing 20 questions. You need to score a minimum of 16 marks in each section to pass the G1 exam and get your G1 Ontario driving license. Before giving the written exam, you have to pass a vision test, and the total fee for the test is $158.25 . You have to pay $16 additionally if you fail your G1 Ontario driving test in order to get another attempt. You can give the exam as many times as you want, but our practice test will help you ace your test on your first attempt. Our G1 practice test is based on the Ontario Driver's Handbook 2025, and our questions are identical to real driving exam questions. After you get your G1 drivers license, you have to hold it for 1 year (8 months after you are enrolled in a driving school and you get the completion certificate). After that, you can give your G2 exam, and after holding your G2 license for 1 more year, you can give the final G license test and get your full drivers license.
